DAC Suits Consumer And Pro Audio Markets

The PCM1738 d/a converter uses a newly developed advanced segment d/a architecture, said to achieve high dynamic performance and improved tolerance to clock jitter. With a 24-bit resolution and a sampling rate of 192 kHz, dynamic range is 117 dB and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) is at 117 dB with distortion rated at 0.0004%.
The chip has two optional modes of operation: an external digital-filter mode for use with the company’s DF1704 and DF 1706 digital interpolation filters and a DSD decoder interface mode for SACD playback applications. Packaged in an SSOP-28, price starts at $4.95 each/1,000.
