Data Logging Tool Increases Productivity

Sept. 1, 2001

Designed for increased data logging productivity, VI Logger is a stand-alone, configuration-based software program that utilizes the power of the PC. Employing dialog windows instead of traditional programming, the application is ready-to-run right out of the box. It operates with a wide variety of the companyÕs data acquisition and signal conditioning products and can log low-speed signals, such as humidity for degradation analysis, as well as high-speed signals, such as vibration. Users can create a single-channel, temperature-logging application or a multiple-channel, machine-monitoring application using a variety of measurement hardware. The application also can detect out-of-range signals and respond to these signals by performing specific actions, such as sending e-mail notifications, triggering digital outputs, presenting warning messages, or sounding an alarm. In addition, logging tasks configured in VI Logger can be integrated into LabVIEW and LabWindows/CVI. For price and availability, call Ernest Martinez at NATIONAL INSTRUMENTS, Austin, TX.
