The Powerstax FC series of dc-dc converter power modules accept 50- to 120-V input direct from many popular fuel cells and deliver a stabilized output of up to 500 W. Power-efficiency levels reach up to 91%. Output-voltage options of 12, 24, 28, and 48 V dc create added flexibility. Active load sharing maximizes the output from an array of multiple modules. Operating temperature ranges from −20° to +100°C, with a mean time between failure (MTBF) of 1.1 million hours. The modules come in a standard full brick (11.68 by 6.10 by 1.27 cm) format, with power densities of up to 5.53 W/cm3. Overvoltage, undervoltage, and short-circuit protection are included. A proprietary monitoring feature safeguards against potential failure conditions.
