Design Tool Creates Unique CE Interfaces

Sept. 1, 2000

Claimed as the first user-interface design tool for developers of intelligent computing products based on the Windows CE operating system, the newly updated CE Interface Composer is capable of creating interfaces that have a completely different look and feel than the standard Windows folder approach. Via a unique COM object model approach and using a simple scripting language, users reportedly can create virtually any interface they desire. Key features of the tool include: SKINS support, where any bitmap image can become a device interface providing full control over appearance; a plug-in for Internet Explorer 4.0 browser control; support for multiple user configurations on the same device; and compatibility with Windows CE 2.11 and 2.12. Pricing is $995 and includes a single-user license and 250 run-time licenses.
