DIP Switches’ Process Seal Comes Off Easily

July 1, 1999

Passing the 20 second fluorinert test per MIL-STD-202, Series 90 of surface-mount DIP switches use a foil seal to protect the switches during processing. The seal is easy to remove after processing and leaves no messy adhesive residue. Switch markings are visible through the tape seal, and the switches can be used with pick-and-place assembly equipment because there are no overhanging tabs. Available in 2 to 10 positions with gull-wing or J-bend terminations, the DIP switches come on tape-and-reel packaging ready for automated assembly.
