Directional Couplers Operate At High Frequencies

March 1, 2001

Capable of delivering high-frequency coupling performance from 500 MHz to 3 GHz and above, the CP0603 Series of directional couplers are well-suited for handheld communications applications. The devices feature typical coupling performance of from 6.5 to 26 dB over a wide frequency range.
The couplers are available in seven basic configurations with multiple coupling factors offered in each configuration. And they feature a characteristic impedance of 50 ohms, typical insertion loss of 0.25 dB, and typical VSWR of 1.2.
The SMT devices are made using a thin-film technology with nickel/solder terminations and are compatible with reflow, wave and vapor phase soldering techniques. Operating temperature range is -40°C to 85°C. And in addition to handheld communication products, the couplers are suited for use in satellite TV receivers, global positioning systems, vehicle location systems, and wireless LANs. Typical pricing for CP Series couplers is about $0.26 each in quantity. Samples are available.
