Eight Channel ADCs Feature Software Configurable Inputs

Jan. 1, 2002

5V supply and feature a highly flexible multiplexer. Via software, the LTC1852 10-bit and 12-bit LTC1853 eight-channel a/d converters can be configured for different combinations of single ended or differential inputs, two gain ranges and unipolar or bipolar operation. With a sample rate of 4 ksamples/s, they can scan through all channels or be programmed with a sequence of up to 16 unique input configurations and channels for automatic scanning. The devices allow sequencer read-back and provide channel ID with each conversion result in the parallel data output. Both offer a dc accuracy of 1 LSB INL and DNL and consume 3mW from a single 3V supply, and 10mW of power when operated at 5V. The LTC1852 and LTC1853 are pin-compatible and are offered in 48-pin TSSOPs. Pricing begins at $5.95 and $6.95, respectively, each/1,000. LINEAR TEHNOLOGY CORP., Milpitas, CA. (408) 432-1900.
