The PSC1000 microprocessor, a highly integrated 32-bit RISC processor offering high performance for a wide range of embedded applications, has seen the pico Virtual Machine (pVM) Java software from Charis Software Systems Inc., ported to itself to provide a low-cost solution for small, embedded Java devices. The pico Virtual Machine is a full-function Java-compliant Virtual Machine of less than 50 kbytes in size and is suited for memory-constrained embedded systems. Target devices include pagers, smart card readers, industrial controller, POS terminals, intelligent appliances and handheld terminals.
