Enclosures Protect Solar-Powered Cars

A critical aspect of solar-powered car design is the manner in which the batteries are secured in order to contain acid leakage and protect drivers from high voltages. The N-series 34" x 12" x 11" fiberglass enclosures are said to be qualified for this particular task. A typical solar-powered vehicle incorporates 610 solar cells providing approximately 900W of power for eight 12V, deep-cycle batteries wired in series. Housing four batteries each, the fiberglass enclosures can handle the 96V generated by the batteries, as well as the power generated by the cells without causing damage while at the same time protecting the driver. And they can be customized to suit various applications and space requirements.
