Euro Connectors Provide Positive Latching

Jan. 1, 1999

A positive plug and header latching system enables the 98 and 99 Eurostyle terminal blocks to resist vibration and wire loads and provides a visual and audible indication of a positive connection. The units also feature a rising-cage clamp and field-proven female contacts. The mated plug and header are 69% shorter and 45% narrower than standard mated vertical and horizontal plugs, respectively. The rising-cage pressure clamp offers more pressure for securing stranded wires than does a screw with guard design, it's claimed. A polarization feature eliminates the potential for mismating. Applications include process controls, security systems, PLCs and telecommunications.
