Fast IR Transceiver Cuts Component Count

product pic

Claiming to reduce by half the number of external components required to implement short-range, high-speed infrared connectivity in notebook PCs, portable printers and other information appliances, the ZHX2010 fast infrared transceiver provides a current source and differential front end for improved noise rejection, eliminating the need for up to three external filtering components.
Reported as the first FIR transceiver to offer footprint compatibility with Infineon's IRMS6400, the device features a compact, surface-mount package measuring just 9.8 mm x 4.8 mm x 4.0 mm. It allows high-speed IR connectivity to be added to a variety of systems. Pricing is $2.35 each/50,000.
