Fiber-Optic Connector Hastens Termination Process

A crimp-style, pre-polished connector has been added to the Opti-Jack line of fiber-optic connectors. The new duplex connector, called Opti-Crimp, eliminates the polishing and adhesion steps in the termination process, thereby reportedly reducing installation time by as much as 70%.
The RJ-45 FJ connector is compliant with TIA FOCIS-6 Fiber Jack Interface specifications and is suitable for use in a variety of applications, including backbone, horizontal and work-area environments, as well as in local area or service provider networks. Like the company’s other modules, the new connector has a robust design and is interchangeable in a single-module space of outlets, surface-mount boxes, patch panel, and office outlet poles.
