High Accuracy Claimed For IC Cost Analysis Tool

Dec. 1, 2001

The cost of integrated circuits reportedly can be easily and accurately determined with Cost Model 4.0 software. The tool can accurately model devices as small as 0.13 microns utilizing up to 36 masking steps and is useful when negotiating new products from foundries or for determining the potential price of a new custom circuit. Users can view wafer, die and packaging costs as inputs change. No in-depth industry costing expertise is required to use the software; however, all yield and cost factors may be overridden should the user so desire. Full version price is $2,495; upgrade price from version 3.0 is $995. INTEGRATED CIRCUIT ENGINEERING CORP., Scottsdale, AZ. (866) 423-2677.
