Instrument Generates Complex, High-Speed Digital Patterns

Sept. 1, 1998

Capable of creating digital data patterns at speeds and complexities to fulfill most demanding requirements, PI-2000 Data Generator provides clock rates up to 150 MHz in TTL and ECL. The unit can provide 8 to 40 channels in 8-channel increments, and provides RZ and NRZ modes of operation. Software for the IBM-compatible computer is included and allows easy programming under Windows. The software patterns are loaded into the instrument directly over the IEEE-488 bus or through floppy disks. The included computer has a 2.1 GB hard drive for pattern storage. Logic program statements allow creation of complex data routines that let the data generator pause, continue or perform a programmable start from any line in the program. Channel skew is less than 100 ps.
