Integrating Dual-Slope Analog Processor Adds On-Chip Precision Voltage Reference

Dec. 1, 1999

Designed to improve overall system performance and measurement accuracy, an on-chip precision voltage reference is available in the firm's ALD500R, 500RA and 500RAU integrating dual-slope analog processors. The standard reference voltage output is preset at 1.000V and can be specified with a tolerance of 0.2%, 0.3% or 0.5%. Maximum guaranteed temperature coefficients range from 10 to 50 ppm/°C.Available with resolutions of 16, 17 and 18 bits plus sign bit and overrange bit, the devices feature low linearity errors of typically 0.001% full scale. Total power dissipation is 6 mW with input current of 2 pA at 0V. Input signal range is ±3.5V. Conversion speed can be regulated by an external CPU under software control or by using fixed-logic digital inputs.
