Locking Connectors Prevent Disengagment

May 1, 2001

Designed to prevent accidental disengagement of plugs from mating jacks, this line of locking dc jacks and plugs use two raised metal strips, positioned 180° apart on the outside of the plug barrel. These align with two mating slots that run through the outside of the jack enclosure so that when the plug is inserted into the jack, the metal strips align with and insert into the mating slot.
Twisting the plug 90° makes and maintains a secure lock between both jack and plug. The MP-121CR is an assembly-type plug; the MP-121CR1 is for molding on to cable assemblies; and the MJ-179LR is the mating jack for both plugs. Sample price for the MJ-179LR jacks is $0.32 each/10,000.
