Low-Cost Transformers Are Versatile And Reliable

Aug. 1, 2001

The Gemini 7 and Gemini 13 transformers are available in a variety of inductance and current ratings and provide isolation between windings of 500 Vdc. The Gemini 7 offers a turns ratio of 1:1:1 and Gemini 13, 1:1:1:1:1. Windings can be combined in series or parallel styles to meet specific applications, such as buck/boost, chokes, filters, and coupled inductors. Employing an EP-type core geometry reduces radiated noise. Features include typical power ranges of 5W and lower, a maximum frequency range of 500 kHz, and a storage temperature range from -50¡C to 155¡C. Manufactured with UL94 V-0 material, the transformers are compatible with solder reflow processes to 240c and are available in surface- or thru-hole mount versions.
