LVDS Repeaters Tout High Performance And Signal Integrity

March 1, 2002

The latest additions to the company's LVDS interface IC line include 1:1 (FIN1101), 2:2 (FIN1102), 4:4 (FIN1104), and 8:8 (FIN1108) LVDS repeaters, with the new devices said to offer higher performance and better signal integrity than prior repeaters. In terms of performance, the new repeaters operate at speeds in excess of 800 Mb/s with a maximum propagation delay of 1.5 ns and a typical channel-to-channel skew of 35 ps. And for improved signal integrity, the devices can be mounted at a card's edge to eliminate the effects of long stub traces. The FIN1101, FIN1102, FIN1104 and FIN1108 are priced at $0.90, $1.75, $3.25 and $5.95, respectively, each/1,000. FAIRCHILD SEMICONDUCTOR INTERNATIONAL, San Jose, CA. (888) 522-5372.
