MEMS Design Tools Arrive For Wireless Market

Aug. 1, 1999

An array of software tools for the rapid development of microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) for use in wireless products is said to help OEMs serving the telecomm market to bring next-generation systems to market faster. Included in the initial offering are:AutoMM for RF, which enables extraction of HDL models of wireless MEMS components from layout and 3D device-level descriptions; MemHenry, which supports direct extraction of electromechanical HDL models from 3D device descriptions of RF MEMS components such as inductors and varactors; and CoSolveEM v3.0, which supports analysis of tunable MEMS RF filters. The program will also make available services to aid the insertion of these devices into manufacturing operations.
