With the recent introduction of new series of Valve-Regulated Lead Acid (VRLA) batteries, the float service life times of VRLA batteries reportedly has been more than doubled. Compared to conventional VRLA batteries' service life of 3-5 years, the new RE and REL Series batteries are said to provide 5-10 years and 10-15 years float life, respectively, thereby significantly reducing the cost of providing long-life power solutions for UPSs, telecomm equipment, security systems, and more.
RE/REL Series batteries also have the same footprints as the firm's existing, NP Series VRLA batteries, enabling the new units to be dropped into existing designs.
The RE Series of VRLA batteries includes models rated from 5 to 12 Ah at the 20-hour rate, while the REL Series spans a 15 to 65 Ah range. The batteries have an operating temperature range of -20°C to 60°C and the material from which their jars and covers are made consist of flame-retardant UL94 VO plastic.
