Photoelectric Sensors Interface With PLCs

Aug. 1, 1998

Designed to interface with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), 5000 Series of transmission, direct reflection, and retro-reflection type photoelectric sensors feature built-in power supplies and relays to simplify mounting and integration in a wide range of general-purpose applications, such as counting, machine malfunction detection, alignment control, visual inspection and limit switches. Eliminating the need for separate plug-in modules or cards, these sensors have all required time delay, normal and inverted logic, and timing and sensitivity adjustment circuits so operators only need to select the function and make adjustments. Operating ranges are 16 feet for the retro-reflection type, 2.5 feet for the direct reflection type, and 33 feet for the transmission type.
