Programmable Gate-Array Cores Suit SOC Applications

Oct. 1, 1999

Programmable gate-array cores, or CX-Cores, are now available for system-on-chip (SOC) ASICs. The cores make it possible for ASIC development teams to benefit from rapid, low-cost iterations of logic within a complex SOC IC. The CX-Cores, from Chip Express, have seen use in a GSM/3G wireless handset design and are being incorporated into ASIC and standard-product platforms for other applications, including communications network access and transport and computing systems. The CX-Core libraries are available in Lucent's COM-1 0.25-µm modular CMOS process.
