Ribbon Cable Uses Halogen-Free Insulation

Sept. 1, 1999

The Series 2049 0.025" round conductor flat ribbon cable is said to be the only halogen-free cable of its size. The cable allows more signals to travel in denser, lighter cables, which makes it well-suited for products in which space is limited or where weight is an issue. Because the cables are halogen-free, they can lessen possible damage to equipment from smoke.Cables can be used in a wide range of applications, including public transportation, control systems, telecommunications, data processing,intra-cabinet applications and in confined spaces where secondary fire damage is a concern. The cables use 30 AWG tinned solid copper and are rated for -40°C to 105°C.
