RISC CPU Gets Debugging Support Under Windows CE

The XDB ROM Monitor has been adapted to fully support Hitachi's SuperH SH-3 RISC microprocessor, a 100-MHz 32-bit chip designed for handheld applications. The monitor adds system-level awareness to its debugger to support Windows CE. This software agent supports access to the registers and memory of the SH-3 and supports execution control. It uses the on-chip breakpoint unit to supply hardware breakpoints for ROM code debugging and supports TCP/IP connectivity to enable remote debugging via a LAN or the Internet. In addition, the XDB ROM Monitor is compatible with Visual C++ compiler for the microprocessor.
