Signal Analyzer Claims Superior Acquisition Fidelity

Feb. 1, 2000

Delivering the acquisition fidelity required for testing 10-Gb/s transmitter designs, the CSA8000 communications signal analyzer features a user-configurable modular architecture and a variety of plug-in modules that support conformance testing to multiple standards. The instrument features a short-term jitter of less than 1 ps typical and a timebase stability of less than 0.1 ppm.A maximum of eight channels--eight electrical or two optical and six electrical--can simultaneously acquire signals. Bandwidth is from dc to 50 GHz with up to a 12.5-GHz trigger.Three unique optical modules support both telecomm and datacomm standards and test multiple rates with a single optical sampling head. The modules support OC-12/STM4, OC-48/STM16, OC192/STM64, Gigabit Ethernet, and Fibre Channel 1063 standards. In addition, the modules include integrated optical reference receivers, a power meter, and clock recovery.
