The handheld unit can also be used as a stand-alone digital multimeter, allowing it to measure ac voltage/current, resistance, frequency, and temperature; it can also be used to check grounding.The Model 3855 RS-232C package (available as a separate option) consists of a special communications cable and software for transferring measurement data to a PC. Primary uses for the portable unit include equipment maintenance in factories, as a test and evaluation signal source, and as a data logger.
