Software Reduces Power Supply Test Time

The latest version of the company's Windows-based, power supply test environment makes use of a series of programming and calculation techniques to make, what is claimed to be, significant reductions in test times. PowerStar 5 is said to offer a flexible, powerful programming environment for development of test programs and control of equipment. Features such as fill-in-the-blanks test sequence development, drag-and-drop programming, and a library of more than 100 standard, ready-to-use tests allow engineers to create complete functional test programs in a fraction of the time normally required to build and debug test routines. In addition, the software reduces the time allowed for settling to its absolute limit for each individual measurement. A programming loop is used to constantly verify the actual state of the power supply. Pricing is approximately $5,500 with delivery times of three to five weeks.
