Touted as the industry's first SOT-23 dc/dc switching converter with a voltage control input, the MIC2141 is said to be half the size of competing devices and is ideal for supplying bias voltage to gray-scale and color LCDs. The control input allows the user to easily adjust the bias voltage applied to the LCD. Similar devices have traditionally been available ONLY in larger packages, such as MSOP-10, which is almost twice the size. Features include an input voltage range from 2.5 to 14V, an adjustable output voltage up to 22V, an efficiency of 90%, a quiescent current of 70 mA, switching current up to 500 mA, switching frequency of 330 kHz, and internal compensation. Available in a five-lead SOT-23 package, pricing is $1.45 each/1,000 with delivery from stock to 12 weeks ARO.
