Test Set Verifies Fibre Channel Error Paths

Feb. 1, 1999

Designed for system designers and integrators, the Gigabit Traffic-Jammer (GT-J) is a robust, integrated tool for performance of network conformance and reliability testing on Fibre Channel-based systems. The system uses an advanced stimulus/response approach to verify error paths in Fibre Channel networks. It identifies, then modifies or replaces any element of Fibre Channel traffic with an almost infinite variety of precisely controlled error conditions. It captures original data, modified data and system response in trace memory for analysis. Designers must prove network reliability by testing each error path to verify that no error conditions cause data loss. GT-J determines conformance and reliability using a real-time stimulus/response system that inserts valid and invalid traffic and monitors results.
