Two-Chip Modem Suits ADSL Tasks

Nov. 1, 1998

Fully compatible with the ANSI Issue 2 standard and software upgradable to future revisions, the Tosca two-chip modem solution for asymmetrical digital subscriber line (ADSL) integrates the analog front end, digital multi-tone processor, interleaving RAM, and universal test and operations physical interface for ATM (UTOPIA) framer. The two chips, STLC60134 and STLC60135, dissipate only 1.5W. This chipset offers a fast route towards solutions for the splitterless "lite" ADSL solution promoted by the universal ADSL Working Group.
