Voice Enabled Modem Targets PSTN Net Phones

Introduced as the industry's first voice-enabled Internet modem for PSTN VoIP/Internet telephones, the SmartStack VoIP embedded software includes a speech codec, Internet protocols stack, and the physical layer-soft modem for PSTN or soft MAC for Ethernet LANs. The application is said to be a complete signal-processing device, handling the voice signal from the handset output to the PSTN or Ethernet connector. The software version is currently available for either PSTN or Ethernet, priced at $4.10 each/10,000. For further information, call Barbara Lipke at EDEVICE, New York, NY. (212) 856-0000, ext. 23.
