Here's this week's roundup of some notable new products that have grabbed our attention; we hope they'll grab yours, too.
Dual-Directional Coupler Spans Frequency Range of 10 to 50 GHz

KRYTAR recently announced the expansion of its line of dual-directional couplers with the addition of a new model offering 30 dB of coupling over a broadband frequency range of 10 to 50 GHz (X through Q-bands) in a single, compact, and lightweight package.

The Model 110050030 offers a nominal coupling of 30 dB, ±2.0 dB, and frequency sensitivity of ±2.0. The directional coupler provides an insertion loss (including coupled power) of less than 1.5 dB, directivity of greater than 10 dB, a maximum VSWR (any port) of 1.9, an input power rating of 20 W average, and peak power handling of 3 kW. The directional coupler also comes with industry-standard 2.4-mm SMA female connectors, measures 1.12 inches (L) x 0.40 inches (W) x 0.62 inches (H), and weighs just 1.0 ounce.

MOSFET Gate Driver Needs No External Power Supply

Littelfuse's IXYS CPC1596 570V optically-isolated load-biased MOSFET gate driver, which doesn’t require an external power supply, can provide fast load turn-on speeds of tens of microseconds. The gate driver utilizes load biasing to increase switching speeds, eliminating the need for an opto-gate driver auxiliary power supply.

What’s more, an internal circuit regulates the voltage drawn from the load supply (up to 570 V) down to 12.2 V for internal use. An external storage capacitor is also added to enable constant voltage control for adequately driving the MOSFET. According to Littelfuse, the CPC1596 is ideal for industrial controls, HVAC, medical devices, IoT, and more.

CMOS Op Amps Gain Improved EMI Protection

ROHM now offers its new EMARMOUR BD8758xY series (BD87581YG-C, BD87582YFVM-C) of rail-to-rail input/output high-speed CMOS op amps for automotive and industrial equipment applications in harsh environments.

The CMOS op amps feature improved EMI immunity for applications that require sensing in harsh environments, such as vehicle engine control units and anomaly detection systems for industrial automation equipment.

The EMARMOUR series is designed to mitigate malfunctions due to noise without taking special application measures. According to ROHM, the BD8758xY series has shown superior performance under four international noise evaluation tests, including ISO 11452-2 radio wave emission testing conducted by vehicle manufacturers. Comparable op amps typically output voltage fluctuations by more than ±300 mV in all frequency bands, while the new BD8758xY series achieves ±10 mV or less.

Carrier Board Enables AI at the Edge

D3 Engineering's DesignCore carrier board allows engineers to connect multiple cameras or sensors with the NVIDIA Jetson Xavier NX module to enable AI at the edge. The board comes equipped with an onboard FPGA, which provides a hardware-level synchronization capability. It can also combine 12 streams of input data via an FPD-Link III interface.

Each sensor stream comes in over a serial link and is deserialized into CSI-2 data for use with the NX module. The carrier board also features a myriad of peripherals and expansion connectors essential for edge-AI applications. These include USB3, Gigabit Ethernet, and DisplayPort. It also provides expansion headers for SSD storage (M.2 Type M), Wi-Fi/LTE (M.2 Type E), USB-C, PoE, and an additional HDMI or DisplayPort.

GUI Platform Allows Engineers to Quickly Designs Apps

SEGGER's AppWizard provides engineers with a powerful platform for creating complete, ready-to-run applications for the company's popular emWin embedded graphics library. AppWizard is easy to operate and comes with built-in resource management capabilities. It can also take advantage of emWin's core functions, including rendering animations, language management, widgets, and more.

The software provides a number of tools for app creation, including the "What You See is What You Get (WYSIWYG)," which allows users to design app interfaces, along with their related events, and see how it will appear in its current form. The AppWizard interface features an intuitive design and requires little to no knowledge of emWin or C programming.
