Noticing a considerable gap in status quo liquid cooling solutions, a team of engineers led by Bernie Malouin spent five years developing and refining the next-generation cooling technology behind JetCool. The technology advances kept gaining momentum and visibility, prompting the project, dubbed “Project JETS,” to receive support and funding.
In 2019, two Project JETS team members formed JetCool Technologies as a spin-off from MIT. The JetCool team started introducing high-performance cooling to new application areas, working with leading innovators worldwide to transform next-generation product development, focusing on improving high power electronic efficiency and performance.
In 2024, Flex acquired JetCool Technologies. The deal brings together JetCool’s advanced cooling technologies and Flex’s expertise across IT and power infrastructure, global manufacturing, and vertical integration for customers to deploy AI servers at scale.
