Expanding the ADS5500 family of a/d converters are five devices offering 12- and 14-bit resolutions and sample rates up to 125 Msamples/s. The 14-bit ADS5541 provides a signal-to-noise ratio of 71 dB at speeds up to 105 Msamples/s with a power consumption of 710 mW. An economical alternative for lower-performance applications, the 14-bit ADS5542 operates at speeds up to 80 Msamples/s with a power consumption of 670 mW. The 12-bit ADS5520 and ADS5521 devices operate at 125 and 105 Msamples/s, respectively, and specify a signal-to-noise ratio of 69 dB with a 100 MHz input frequency. Additionally, the 12-bit ADS5522 delivers up to 80 Msamples/s with a signal-to-noise ratio of 70 dB. All members of the family are pin compatible. Prices range from $21 to $95 each.
