The 7846RP digital-to-analog converter (DAC) is a 16-bit microcircuit that suits spaceflight applications. It features a greater than 100-krad (Si) total dose tolerance, depending on orbit. Also, it includes both positive and negative reference inputs. An on-chip output amplifier is incorporated as well.

The 7846RP uses a segmented architecture. Both taps of the segment are buffered by amplifiers and fed to a 12-bit DAC. This configuration provides a further 12 bits of resolution. The 7846RP also incorporates the company's patented Rad-Pak radiation-shielding technology to provide the required space mission lifetime.
