A 16-bit, 80 MSPS a/d converter, the MAX19586 offers very low dynamic noise performance. Specifications include 80 dB signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), -82 dBFS noise floor and 96 dBc spurious-free dynamic range (SFDR), at an input frequency of 10 MHz.

Power dissipation under these dynamic conditions is 1.1W. The device operates at a voltage of 3.3V analog and 1.8V digital. It has a full-scale input voltage range of 2.56 Vp-p. The device is packaged in a 56-pin QFN-EP, much smaller than competitive ADCs. It is specified for the industrial temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. On chip is a fully differential track-and-hold built around the 16-bit converter core. Applications include cellular base-station transceiver systems, multi carrier and multi standard communication receivers, E911 location receivers and high-end test and measurement equipment. Price is $59.25 each/100. MAXIM INTEGRATED PRODUCTS, Sunnyvale, CA. (800)998-8800.
