ADC Module Provides A Dozen High-Speed 12-Bit Channels
The HEGD11 analog-to-digital converter (ADC) module comes with up to 12 channels of high-speed, 12-bit analog-to-digital conversion. It also tightly couples with DSP or FPGA processing systems for real-time performance. Supported by HERON and TIM-40 systems, it allows internal or external sample clocks from dc to 33 MHz. Additionally, ac-coupled differential inputs are provided, and multiple modules can use common clocks. Priced at $2725, the HEGD11 is now available.

DMOS Full-Bridge Driver IC Permits Motor And Inductive-Load Control
The A3971S dual DMOS full-bridge driver IC is designed for the pulse-width modulated (PWM) control of inductive loads such as relays, solenoids, dc motors, and stepper motors. It's capable of up to ±2.5-A continuous output currents and operating voltages up to 50 V. Low power dissipation during PWM operation is provided by low on-resistance DMOS output drivers (300-mΩ source, 160-mΩ sink). A boosted voltage is created through charge-pump circuitry, fully enhancing the high-side DMOS switches. Flexibility in configuring PWM control is permitted by three TTL-compatible logic input terminals on each bridge. The IC also features internal circuit protection, and special power-up sequencing isn't required. It's packaged in a 24-lead plastic SOIC with a copper batwing tab. Set at ground potential, the power tab needs no electrical isolation. Contact the company for pricing and availability information.

24-Bit ADC Provides An Extra Channel For Sensor Applications
The LTC2402 two-channel, 24-bit, no-latency, delta-sigma (Δ−Σ) analog-to-digital converter (ADC) is packaged in a 10-pin MSOP. It's designed for applications that need an extra channel for sensor compensation, cold junction compensation, and measuring ambient temperature with pressure sensors. Simple 2- or 3-wire I/O permits two channels of 24-bit data over two wires for isolated measurements. An on-chip oscillator eliminates the need for external frequency-setting components. Reference voltages ranging from 0.1 V to VCC provide flexibility in ratiometric and remote sensing applications.

This ADC converts voltages up to 12.5% over VREF and down to 12.5% below ground on a single supply. Its operating supply voltages range from 2.7 to 5.5 V. Current consumption is 200 µA during conversions and 20 µA in shutdown. Also, the LTC2402 performs transparent offset and full-scale calibration on every conversion to provide 5-ppm total unadjusted error, 0.5-ppm offset error, and 4-ppm full-scale error. True 24-bit DNL with no missing nodes is guaranteed, and the integral nonlinearity is only 4 ppm.

AFE For DSL Systems Meets ANSI And ETSI Requirements
The AFE1144 miniature analog front end (AFE) is optimized for DSL communication systems such as high-bit-rate DSL (HDSL) and variable-speed symmetrical DSL (SDSL). It provides all of the analog circuitry that's necessary for connecting a DSP to a line transformer within a DSL system. Also, its low out-of-band power spectral density (PSD) meets ANSI's proposed PSD standards and ETSI's requirements. The device's transmit section generates and filters analog symbols to create 2B1Q symbols, while the receive section filters and digitizes the symbol data received on the telephone line. An on-board differential line driver supplies a 13.5-dBm signal to the telephone line. A scalable data rate (64- to 1168-Kbit/s operation), a serial digital interface for ease of use, 250-mW power dissipation, and single 5-V supply operation are included as well. Packaged in an SSOP-28, the AFE1144 starts at $9.00 in 1000-piece quantities.
