Claiming early ground in emerging avionics applications, the MDS 800 and TCS 800 common-based bipolar transistors target MODE-S and traffic alert collision avoidance (TCAS) applications, respectively. The MDS 800 is an 800-W, 50-V device designed for pulsed systems over the 1,090-MHz frequency band. The TCS 800 provides the same ratings as the MDS 800 except it is designed for the 1,030-MHz band.
Pending successful trials, the TCS 800 is expected to enter production in 2002.
