Both VHF and UHF automatic gain control (AGC) amplifier functions are combined in the TSDF12830YS and TSDF32830YS dual MOS monolithic integrated circuits. One amplifier is optimized for VHF applications, the other for UHF. The devices have an integrated band switch that enables one-line switching, reducing the number of lines on a pc board and the number of external components. The amplifiers have a common source and gate-2 leads. The lower-frequency VHF amplifier is designed for optimal cross-modulation and low noise figure, while the UHF amplifier provides better gain and noise figure performance at the higher frequencies. Both have a main AGC control range of 3V to 0.5V. The devices have identical electrical specifications but offer a choice of two pinout options: the SOT363 for the TSDF12830YS and the SOT363(L) for the TSDF32830YS. Applications are as front-end amplifiers in digital and analog tuners in TVs, VCRs, set-top boxes and other communications equipment. Pricing starts at $10/100 in 100,000 quantities.
