The A3946 power-MOSFET predriver IC drives brush dc motors, three-phase brushless dc motors, switched reluctance motors, and other large inductive loads. Its two high-current gate-drive outputs can drive many n-channel MOSFETs. Both outputs are configured to drive a classic half-bridge. The two inputs can be tied together to allow for a single pulse-width-modulation input signal, or they can be driven independently. The batwing 16-lead SOIC costs $0.85 each in lots of 1000.
