The STGxL6NC60D series PowerMESH IGBTs employ efficient lifetime-control techniques to reduce energy loss during turn off, allowing designers to use low-cost IGBT technology in energy-sensitive circuits such as lighting ballasts operating well above 20 kHz. In addition, the lower turn-off energy allows the devices to operate at low junction temperatures with a small snubber capacitor, leading to lower power dissipation, greater reliability, and a smaller footprint. Additionally, the devices integrate an ultra-fast, soft-recovery diode that ensures high dV/dt immunity. Applications include high-frequency lighting ballasts from 70W to 150W, switchmode power supplies, and power-factor controllers. Four devices in the series offer a choice of power packages: TO-220, TO-220FP, DPAK, and D2PAK. Prices start at $0.35 for the 600V STGPL6NC60D in a TO-220 package for orders over five million pieces.
