Poised for portable medical devices and low-voltage industrial and communications applications, the AD8553 instrumentation amplifier promises to maintain high-precision performance at voltages as low as 1.8V. The device exhibits a high CMRR at low gains and a low offset and offset drift while operating with voltages from 1.8V to 5.5V. In shutdown mode, the total supply current is reduced to less than 4 μA. Features include a maximum offset voltage of 25 μV, maximum offset voltage drift of 0.1 μV/°C, and a voltage noise of 0.7 μVp-p from 0.1 Hz to 10 Hz. Parasitic resistance in series with the VREF pin does not degrade performance, allowing the device to attain a CMRR performance of 120 dB minimum at G=100 without using a buffer amplifier. Available in a 10-lead MSOP, price is $1.30 each/1,000. For further information and availability, contact ANALOG DEVICES INC., Wilmington, MA. (800) 262-5643.
