For use in industrial controls, the VNI2140J intelligent power switch employs the latest generation VIPower technology, which allows a lower overload current limit than similar devices. The two-channel IC measures 6 mm x 5 mm and integrates all the necessary logic, driver circuitry, power stage, protection, and diagnostic functions. Inputs are 3.3V TTL/CMOS compatible and outputs are connected in the high-side configuration. Capable of driving two independent resistive, inductive, or capacitive loads, the chip’s shorted-load protection with independent active current limitation for each channel prevents load faults from pulling down the system power supply.
