Op Amps Enhance Video Designs

Targeting a range of high- and standard-definition video applications, the 210-MHz FHP3x50 and the 50-MHz FHP3x30 op amp families exploit BCP6T technology, described as an ultra-low capacitance, complementary bipolar process using silicon-on-insulator and deep trench isolation techniques. The 210-MHz triple- and quad-channel FHP3x50 devices optimize bandwidth in high-speed applications with a 1.1 kV/µs slew rate, 0.07% differential gain, 0.03° phase error, gain flatness of 0.1 dB, and a dc accuracy of 0.05 µA typical. Both devices in the family consume 3.6 mA of supply current per amplifier with the triple-channel device offering a disable feature to prevent additional power consumption. Single-, dual- and quad-channel devices in the 50-MHz FHP3x30 family offer a 110-V/µs slew rate, 0.008% differential gain, and a 0.01° phase error. Other FHP3x30 features include a gain flatness of 16 MHz to 0.1 dB, operating current of 2.5 mA per amplifier, and a ±100 mA output. Depending on the family and device, prices range from $0.49 to $0.86 each/1,000.FAIRCHILD SEMICONDUCTOR, South Portland, ME. (800) 341-0392.
