PIN Photodiodes Feature Gullwing And Reverse-Gullwing Packages

The VBPW34x and VBP104x series surface-mount PIN photodiodes debut in both gullwing and reverse gullwing packages in clear epoxy and daylight-blocking filtered versions. Eight devices in the offering are suitable for use in smoke detection, light barriers, and data transmission across a wide range of consumer and industrial applications. The VBPW34FAS, VBPW34FASR, VBP104FAS, and VBP104FASR feature a daylight-blocking filter matched with IR emitters operating at a wavelength of 870 nm or 950 nm. They detect infrared signals in light barrier applications covering a range from 780 nm to 1,050 nm and specify a peak wavelength of 950 nm. For high-speed photo detection, the VBPW34S, VBPW34SR, VBP104S, and VBP104SR clear epoxy devices cover a spectral range from 430 nm to 1,100 nm and provide a peak wavelength of 940 nm. Depending on the series, pricing is either $0.25 or $0.30 each/5,000. VISHAY INTERTECHNOLOGY, INC., Malvern, PA. (619) 336-0860.
