Switches Provide Reliable USB Protection
The AP2145 active-low-enable and AP2155 active-high-enable 0.5A single-channel power switches provide complete protection for USB ports and other 3V to 5V hot swap interconnects. They are available in SOP-8L and exposed-pad MSOP-8L-EP packages and specify a 10-µs transient and a 1A current limiting capability. Other features include a 7-ms deglitch period, reverse current blocking, over-current, over-temperature, and short-circuit protection, controlled rise time, under-voltage lockout, an operating temperature range from –40ºC to +85ºC, and a maximum current consumption in shutdown mode of 1 µA. Prices for the AP2145 and AP2155 start from $0.31 each/1,000. DIODES INC., Westlake Village, CA. (805) 446-4800.
