Geneva, Switzerland, Seoul, Korea and Yakum, Israel: Samsung Electronics, STMicroelectronics, and Metalink (a provider of highperformance wireless and wireline broadband communication silicon solutions) will collaborate on developing set-top boxes that support high-definition TV (HDTV) quality based on the 802.11n wireless IPTV standard.

The Samsung SMT-H6155 is specifically designed to deliver HD IPTV over wireless LAN. It’s equipped with an STi7109 chip set from STMicroelectronics, which provides the HD video-decoding technology. It also comes with Metalink’s 802.11n WLANPlus chip set, which enables the wireless delivery of multiple HD video streams throughout the home.
