Cypress Microsystems released a new family of microprocessors some time ago called the PSoC family. These devices are like Lego building blocks for engineers. The development tools are powerful and inexpensive. Here is one of their applications to build a polyphonic piano with the CY8C25443 chip. Note that you will need a PSoC programmer to download this code to the chip.
