Intel Development Center In China

Intel is opening a development center in its Beijing headquarters to help Chinese OEMs accelerate the design of networking and telecommunications solutions. "We want to make sure there will be good local support for the equipment manufacturers there," says Pradip Shankar, general manager of Intel's Network Processor Operations, San Jose, Calif.

Staffed by the company's engineers, the center will employ the Intel Exchange Architecture. This framework enables the design of flexible network and telecom equipment. It adds network functionality quickly and cost-effectively by using building blocks from Intel and other third parties to help achieve a faster and cheaper time-to-market.
