The six ac-dc power supplies in the single-output, 3-W switching MPM-03S series from MicroPower Direct include a universal ac input, full safety approvals, robust filtering, and a miniature dual-inline package (DIP). They operate from a universal input of 85 to 264 V ac and provide tightly regulated single outputs of 3.3, 5, 9, 12, 15, or 24 V dc.

Standard features include universal 85- to 264-V ac inputs, filtering to EN55022, input/output isolation of 3000 V ac, and very low leakage current. All of the models are protected for over-temperature and short-circuit faults, and they’re specified to operate from –25°C to 71°C (ambient).

Thanks to their Class II input (IEC61140), the supplies can be used with an earth ground connection. The mean time before failure (MTBF) (per MIL HDBK 217F) is greater than 200 khours. All six models are approved to EN60950 and comply with the European Union’s Restrictions on Hazardous Substances.

The MPM-03S series suits applications requiring high performance, miniature size, and low cost, such as industrial automation systems, machine/process control equipment, and telecommunications/data processing systems. The Class II input also makes the series a good choice for remote or portable equipment where a reliable ground often isn’t available. Availability is from stock to six weeks.
